Vanessa Kelly, Executive Officer for the Northamptonshire Waste Partnership, said: “Home composting is the cheapest and most environmentally friendly way to deal with compostable materials. Composting returns vital organic matter and nutrients to the soil and it reduces the amount of waste that we send to the landfill.

“The home composter offer is our way of thanking Northamptonshire residents for supporting green waste recycling services and to encourage more people to give home composting a go.”

The Northamptonshire Waste Partnership (NWP) is a partnership of Northamptonshire councils and was set up to improve joint working arrangements on waste management matters. Another key objective is to improve the effective delivery of waste services across the county and reduce waste going to landfill.
