Reduce Rubbish

Only buy things that you really need. Most of what we throw away could be used again. Think twice before you put something in the bin

Have you heard the SNAPP?

Northamptonshire Scouts have agreed to support a year-long Community Impact project from April 2019 to help reduce the amount of plastic entering the sea which they are calling SNAPP.   The  SNAPP project, Scouts Northamptonshire Avoid Plastic Pollution is being launched by Northamptonshire Scouts on 30/03/2019 utilising the international Earth Hour day.

The aim is to run a countywide Community Impact project to raise awareness and help Scouts Northamptonshire to take action on this problem.  In raising awareness of plastic pollution/soup caused by the overuse of unnecessary plastic, all Sections of Scout Groups and Districts will take action to reduce our impact on both the local and international communities.

The project aims to be part of a scouting programme of activities on offer to Northamptonshire Scouts. Taking part in the project will involve a series of challenges and opportunities to Reduce, Recycle, Educate and Remove, single-use plastics from our daily lives where possible.  A Badge has been developed to support this initiative alongside the registration process and will be launched in March 2019.
