New Green Team In Northamptonshire

The Northamptonshire Waste Partnership has employed two Recycling Improvement Officers to increase recycling across the county.

The Recycling Improvement Officers (RIOs) will help the Northamptonshire Waste Partnership (NWP) to increase participation in recycling and composting schemes across Northamptonshire.

The RIOs will carry out research to help you to improve your recycling habits and assist with the launch of new green initiatives to raise recycling awareness in your community.

Meet the team:

Environmental Science Graduates Tsoek Him-Pang and Robert Haley are willing and ready RIOs who will be raising recycling awareness throughout the county in your community.

The duo has started their work at Corby Borough Council. Between now and April 2015 they will work on six week placements in each of Northamptonshire’s District and Borough Councils and the County Council, to rally recycling and help us to waste less!

Tsoek said, “With the aid of NWP and the different councils we hope to increase recycling in each pocket of Northamptonshire. We will encourage Northamptonshire’s local residents to work together to improve their streets and communities and to raise wider recycling awareness.”

Cllr Chris Millar, Chair of the Northamptonshire Waste Partnership said “I am delighted that Rob and Tsoek have joined the NWP team for the next 12 months.  Their work will take them county –wide as they help each of the Northamptonshire Authorities promote and encourage participation in their recycling and composting services.  They will be working on a number of projects all designed to increase recycling rates and reduce the amount of waste thrown away by Northamptonshire residents”.

So look out for Tsoek and Rob in your local community and feel free to ask them to help you waste less and recycle more!
