Public Consultation on Changes to the Household Waste Recycling Centre Service

Northamptonshire County Council continues to be faced with significant reductions to the funding it receives from central government, which along with your council tax, pays for the Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) service they provide.

In order to meet these financial challenges, Northamptonshire County Council are reviewing the service which currently provides 10 HWRCs across the county in order to save £1million over the next four years, with £250,000 saved in 2014/2015

As a result, Northamptonshire County Council are proposing to make some changes to:

  • The number of HWRCs available; and
  • The current opening hours and days

The HWRCs are a key component to the county’s waste management infrastructure. Providing a high quality, efficient service that meets the needs of Northamptonshire residents and represents good value for money for the council taxpayer is a priority to Northamptonshire County Council.

Northamptonshire County Council have produced an online survey in which they provide more detail about these proposals and ask you for your opinion.

Even if you don’t currently use the HWRCs, Northamptonshire County Council would still like to hear your views as this will still help to shape the future of the service.
