Repair or adapt

The best environmental choice is to repair, restore or adapt a product you already have. You may need professional help but it could still be cheaper than something new.

Real Christmas Tree Recycling in Northamptonshire:

 If your real Christmas tree has roots, consider planting it in the garden.  If not, ensure it gets composted with your local council's garden waste collection, or take to your local Household Waste Recycling Centre.  Here is a list of the Christmas Tree recycling arrangements in your area: 

Corby:   Collected for composting in the garden waste bin, on the scheduled collections in the New Year.  The tree needs to be cut up and placed into the bin, with the lid shut.

Daventry DC:     Collected for composting with first garden  waste collection of New Year – w/c 21st   Jan 2019

East NorthamptonshireCollected with the first garden  waste collection of the New Year.  Either place next to the bin, or chop up and place into the garden waste bin. 

Kettering BC:     Real Christmas trees will be collected for composting from Monday 7th January for  two weeks.  Place them next to the blue or  grey bin on your recycling collections day.  Saw in half if it’s over 5 ft. tall. 

Northampton BC:     Collected for composting in the brown garden waste bins during the first garden waste collections of the New Year.  Larger trees can be left by the side of the bin.

South Northamptonshire:    Real Christmas Trees collected for composting with 1st green bin collection of  New Year.

BC Wellingborough: Take real Christmas Trees to HWRCs for composting.
